Detoxificaton is only the first step in treating addiction.  Conventional programs that last a week to 28 days usually fail (relapse rates are around 85%) because the underlying problems that create the addictive behavior are not addressed or dealt with.  Although the detoxification from Opiates (and other drugs) can be accomplished within days, insuring sobriety requires a longer relationship with the patient.  For this reason Dr. Kipper remains available to his patients for their outpatient treatment for six months.  As an internist, he has the advantage to see you as a "whole patient", not an "addict".  By addressing all of your problems that contribute to your addiction, your odds for successful treatment are maximized.  My support team and I have learned that shorter treatment plans will usually fail, and we want you to succeed.  Your outpatient treatment begins with a thorough physical examination and discussion of all relevant issues contributing to your addiction (sleep disorders, pain syndromes, phychologiiical and family issues).  Prescribing Suboxone is the first step, but addressing these other problems helps insure your long-term success.

Your treatment is individualized and incorporates outpatient consultations with the specialists that are necessary to solve your problems.  Dr. Kipper is happy to deal directly with your personal physician to insure continuity of your care.  Simply stated, we will stay with you until you are feeling safe and confident that your addiction is under good control.

Qualifications
Dr. Kipper has treated addiction in my internal medicine practice for over twenty years.   He has been licensed to use Buprenorphine since its acceptance by the FDA over three years ago, and regularly seeks training in addiction medicine.  A member of the California Society of Addiction Medicine and the American Society of Addiction Medicine,  Dr. Kipper has spoken about addiction in the media.  Patients have included high profile people in entertainment and government and we recognize the need for maintaining the utmost of privacy in every case.  A graduate of the UCLA School of Medicine with his internal medicine training at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Kipper believes that addiction is a symptom of underlying psychological, genetic, and envronmental conditions.  Addressing these problems together will pave the way toward sobriety.  Patients are all different and personalization of any treatment plan is essential.  A team approach is also fundamental to insuring your successful treatment.  Dr. Kipper keeps a small office in Beverly Hills with an intimate setting and takes pride in the personalized care his staff and he provides to their patients.
